Service will begin on Friday May 24th, 2019

Block Island
We will have trips to Block Island on Friday, Saturday and Sunday until June 14th, then we will sail daily until September 15th. Then we will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and conclude on Monday, October 14th.

*In July & August, we offer an additional trip on Sundays to Block Island at 2:00 PM.
**In July & August, we offer an additional trip from Block Island on Sundays at 12:00 PM.

The Block Island Ferry docks at Champlin’s Marina in New Harbor.

New London
We will have trips to New London on Friday and Sunday in June, then we will sail Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday in July & August. In September we will sail on Friday and Sunday and conclude on Monday, October 14th. There will not be service on Sunday, October 13th.

The New London Ferry docks at Cross Sound Ferry Terminal in New London, CT.

There will be service on both routes on Memorial Day – Monday, May 27th and Labor Day – Monday, September 2nd.

 

About Our Boat

All of our Ferry trips are onboard the custom designed Viking Superstar, unless otherwise noted. The Viking Superstar was custom designed by Captain Paul Forsberg for the waters of Montauk. The Viking Superstar is 120’ long and is a high-speed ferry featuring a stable ‘anti-seasickness’ design.

There is comfortable seating for 225 passengers both inside and outside. The interior cabin is air conditioned. We have a full galley with a full breakfast and lunch menu available for purchase onboard. There is adequate storage for bicycles and surf-boards onboard. The three deck Viking Superstar features a fabulous upper deck where you have a photo-opportunity to capture that special moment when you arrive at your location!

About Our Service
We Provide Service Memorial Day Weekend thru Columbus Day Weekend

Viking Fleet provides passenger ferry service only – we do not take cars or anything motorized, however, you are welcome to bring your bicycle or surfboard with you. Parking is available in Montauk $15 per day (or portion of). A parking permit may be purchased at the office or while you are making your reservation. Permits must be displayed inside of the car on the drivers side. You will be issued the permit when you check in at the Viking Fleet office. Viking Fleet assumes no liability, park at your own risk.

Reservations are non-refundable. If you need to change a ticket the fee is $10 per ticket. Ferry trips may be cancelled for a charge of $25 per passenger ticket.

Parking in New London

Parking is available at the Water Street Parking Garage in New London, directly across the street from the ferry terminal. The parking garage rates are $6 per calendar day Mon-Thurs. and $15 per calendar day Fri-Sat-Sun & Holidays.

Martha’s Vineyard Trip – Sunday, August 11th Departure / Tuesday, August 13th Return

Martha’s Vineyard service is provided on the Viking Starship. We have one departure from Montauk on a Sunday at 6:30 pm. The return is on a Tuesday at 4:30pm. Viking Fleet provides passenger ferry service only, we do not take cars. However, you are welcome to bring your bicycle or surfboard with you for a fee. Parking is available at the Viking Dock for $30 for the duration of the trip. Reservations must be made over the phone.

Refunds & Cancellations
  • Chevron down What is your refund policy for this trip?
  • ALL TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  Should you fail to make your scheduled departure time, your ticket will no longer be valid, and therefore you will be required to make a new reservation.

  • Chevron down What if I need to change or cancel my reservation?
  • All reservations are non-refundable. We are happy to exchange a reservation for you provided there is space available on the departure date and time you wish to exchange to. If you need to exchange your reservation, a $10 fee per ticket will be charged.

    If you are unable to travel on the date you reserved for, the reservation may be applied towards another reservation and are good for 1 year from the original intended date of travel. Viking Fleet must be notified before your original travel date in order for your reservation to be honored at a later date. A change fee will apply.

    If you wish to cancel to your reservation prior to departure, a $25.00 service fee per ticket will be charged.

  • Chevron down What happens if the ferry is cancelled?
  • Over the years of operation we have had very few instances where we have needed to cancel our trips due to weather. If a weather cancellation should take place during a departure you are booked on, we make every effort to contact you using the telephone number and email address provided in your reservation. You will be offered a full refund or moved to the next departure.

  • Chevron down What happens if the ferry is delayed due to weather?
  • Viking Fleet cannot guarantee any trip length as travel times may vary due to weather, tides, sea conditions, and/or other unforeseen circumstances. Viking Fleet at its sole and absolute discretion reserves the right to cancel any scheduled trip and/or substitute another vessel without liability if it becomes necessary for any reason. Viking Fleet does not guarantee that the service shall depart or arrive at the time stated in the schedule and will not be liable for any additional travel costs incurred by the passenger as a result of any cancellation or delay.

Onboard
  • Chevron down Can I bring my car, motorcycle, moped, or motor scooter?
  • The Viking Superstar is designed to carry passengers and is not equipped to carry vehicles. Coast Guard regulations do not allow us to transport engine powered vehicles or gasoline.

  • Chevron down Bikes/Surfboards
  • Yes! We do transport bicycles and surfboards for a nominal fee. Please be sure to include that you’ll be bringing a bicycle or surfboard when booking your reservation.

  • Chevron down Can we bring pets onboard?
  • We welcome pets onboard our ferries, but they must be kept on the outdoor decks with a leash. Small pets in a carrier can be brought inside the vessel. Service dogs are permitted onboard.

  • Chevron down Do you have restrictions on baggage?
  • There is plenty of space for luggage.

  • Chevron down Do you have food and drinks for sale onboard?
  • Yes! We have hot and cold beverages, breakfast, hot dogs and snacks available.

  • Chevron down Are there reserved seats?
  • No, we do not reserve seats. Seating is first come first served as passengers board.

  • Chevron down Are the boats handicap accessible?
  • The first deck of our vessels are handicap accessible. Keep in mind due to tides the elevation of the gang plank varies and it could be a steep incline. Our mates do their best to accommodate any needs.

  • Chevron down Do you allow smoking on the boat?
  • Smoking is allowed outside on the back deck only.

  • Chevron down Do you have a lost and found?
  • Yes. If you realize you’ve left something behind, please contact us and we’ll make every effort possible to reunite you with your lost item.

  • Yes! There are parking options in Montauk and New London, CT.

    In Montauk

    Parking is across the street from the office. Parking is $15 per day. You will receive a Parking Pass when you pick up your tickets. Please display the parking permit on dashboard.

    In New London

Reservations & Ticketing

  • We do recommend making advance reservations especially for travel during our peak summer season (July-August). Reservations can be made online, over the phone, or at our ticket office in Montauk.

  • Chevron down Do I have to pay for my ticket when I make a reservation?
  • Yes, pre-payment in full is required to secure a reservation. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

  • Chevron down Can I purchase tickets on the boat?
  • Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended. Tickets may be purchased at the vessel on the day of travel in Block Island or New London on a first come basis, however we cannot guarantee availability.

  • Chevron down Are there child rates?
  • Yes, for children 5-12 years old. Ages 4 and under are free.

  • Chevron down Do you allow unaccompanied minors?
  • Viking Fleet reserves the right not to accept any passenger under the age of 13 years unless accompanied by an adult.

  • Chevron down How do I obtain my tickets?
  • All passengers must present a valid confirmation letter along with proper identification to check in with a Viking representative in the office to receive his/her tickets prior to boarding the vessel.

  • Yes, we love groups and will do everything possible to accommodate their needs! Please give us a call to speak with our group sales coordinator at 631-668-5700.

  • No, we do not offer a senior discount.
