Tue Oct 22 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports a very good day on the Porgy and Sea Bass trip today and how about this weather! A little kater in the day as the sun got really hot the bite slowed down a little but by then everyone had their limit of nice sized fish. First place in the pool was taken by Winston Gordon of the Bronx NY with a 2,5lb Porgy. The edible pool was won by Evan Berry of Yonkers NY who landed a 3,5lb Sea Bass.

Sun Sept. 1- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports that the wind picked up quite a bit this afternoon and dictated where we had to fish. The morning bite cooled off, but anglers managed to secure some nice Porgies and some SeaBass in the buckets. The pool winner was William Nederlander with a 3.8lb Fluke.

Tues Aug 27- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain JR reports a wonderful morning of catching onboard the Viking Star. SeaBass, Fluke, and Porgies kept anglers very busy all trip. Sun Aug 25- Full Day Fluke

Captain JR reports another good day onboard the Viking Starlite. We found most of the same fishing we have been seeing the last week or so. Excellent SeaBass fishing with anglers easily having their pick of beautiful knot head biscuits. The Fluking was also pretty much the same with a pick of fish all day….

Sun Aug 25- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt. Mike reports steady action from the get go. We had jumbo Porgies and big SeaBass through out the morning. We picked up a couple Fluke to top off our buckets.   Beautiful morning on the water. The pool winner was Giuseppe Demarinis from Westchester, NY, with a 4.5lb Fluke.

Sun Aug 11- Full Day Fluke

Captain JR reports a good day of Block Island fishing. The sea bass were literally in every area we fished. From small to XL they were very hungry. We easily kept a limit of very nice knot heads. The fluking was definitely a little off from what it was, but we did have a decent pick throughout the day. Some quality stuff came up and couple guys had a nice limit. All around a good day. The first place pool winner was Chris Ferng from Bayside, NY, with a 7.8lb Fluke. The second place winner was Robert Augustine from Queens, NY, with a 2.8lb SeaBass.

Sun July 14- Full Day Fluke

Captain JR reports another great day of block island fishing on the Viking Starlite. We had loads of action all day with sea bass and fluke keeping rods bent all around the boat. All anglers got their limit of knot head sea bass and a couple got their limit of fluke as well. The fluking in general was definitely improved from our last full day trip as we found a steady pick of fish to 8 lbs. The summer block bite is definitely on. The pool winners were Sang Hat Kim with a 8.5lb Fluke. The second place winner was Andy Messenger from Syosset, NY with a 3.7lb SeaBass.

Sun July 14- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt. Mike reports that we had rods bending all morning again! A lot of short fish biting. We did have some nice keeper SeaBass and Jumbo Porgy in the buckets.  Nice to see the sun again! the pool winner was Daniel Moslcowitz from Plainview, NY, with a 3.5lb SeaBass.

Wed July 10 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports an excellent day of Porgy and Sea Bass fishing. The trip started by drifting close to the Montauk Point Lighthouse, where the porgy fishing was fantastic. The crew on board caught numerous jumbo porgies. After the porgy fishing by the lighthouse, the trip sailed more offshore, where a mass of mixed-sized sea bass was caught. A couple of nice-sized flukes were caught in the mix while offshore. Today’s pool winner was Kenneth Price from Queens, NY, with a 2-pound porgy.

Mon July 8- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain Carl reports an excellent morning of fishing on our Half Day Family Fun trip! We had a light crowd of anglers this morning that all enjoyed catching KEEPER Fluke, Giant Sea Bass, and dinner plate Porgies! The seas were flat calm too! We will be sailing again today at 1PM!
