Thur Oct 6- Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a slower day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. Today was our first day back out after being cancelled for five days due to the severe weather. The conditions were a bit tough and everything seemed to be scattered about still, as the water was still dirty, but will only be getting nicer. We started off the morning fishing up close to the beach, where 90% of the fish caught were SeaBass, mostly on the small size, but we found a few keepers and a handful of Porgies. We then worked our way offshore into about 100 feet of water and got onto a slow pick of nice sized Porgies and a handful of SeaBass. Both pools were won today by Ricardo Lopez from Corona Park, Queens with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy and a 4 1/2 lb SeaBass. We most definitely will be sailing tomorrow morning (Friday, October 7th) at 5 am.
