Fishing Report

Montauk

Wed June 26- Montauk Light House Jumbo Porgies and SeaBass

Capt. Dave reports a much better day of fishing today. We had tons of beautiful Porgies and the SeaBass were biting good today too. Everyone got a handful of Porgies and some beautiful Seabass to take home. Looking forward to an even better day out on the water tomorrow! The pool winner was Charles Flowers with a 2.75 lb Porgy.

Sat Jun 6 – Montauk Spring Porgies

As Reported by Captain Dave, the full-day trip was a little slow today. Today’s fishermen had to battle the rough and windy conditions out on the water. Fish were still caught nonetheless, mostly by the more experienced fishermen on the boat. Our pool winner today was Mr. Park with a 3 pound porgy.

Sat Jun 1 – Montauk Spring Porgies

As reported by Captain Dave, the full-day trip had a great start, catching large jumbo porgies, which lasted about 2 hours. Sun May 28- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt J.R. reports a slower afternoon of fishing on the Viking Star. We did see some improvement from this morning as we got into some more Flukes in the end. The pool winner went to Doug Keller from Southampton, NY with a 2.7 lb Porgy. The weather was beautiful today but the fish bite was less than desirable, we offer our half day fishing trips Saturdays and Sundays both 8am-12pm and 1pm-5pm.

Sun May 28 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a good day of Porgy fishing today on the Viking Starlite. We had a solid 1-2 hours of really good porgy fishing to start off the morning, mostly all in the large to jumbo size. As the day carried on the bite slowed down, we moved around a few times trying out…

Fri May 26- Nantucket Sleigh Ride

Capt Steven Sr. reports a good offshore fluke fishing trip on the Viking Starship. We had a few really nice keepers right off the bat, as soon as we dropped in we had some really nice fish and picked through some shorts. After the tide switched and brought in some colder water the bite slowed…

Sun May 28- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt J.R. reports a slower day of fishing this morning on the Viking Star. We found a few short flukes and sea robin to throw back, but settled the pool in the last seconds of the trip with a large sized Porgy. The pool winner went to Tyrone Chrisjohn from Saugerties, NY with a 2.6 lb Porgy.  The weather was beautiful today but the fish bite was less than desirable, hopefully well see a change in our PM portion of half day fishing.

Sat May 27- Sunset Jigging Trip

Capt J.R. reports a good night of fishing on the Viking Star. We searched around our usual haunts and found only a couple undersized Stripers for the start of our trip. We took a little ride down the beach and found giant piles of gorilla blue fish! It was loads of fun battling these monsters…
